As a Release Manager you will help us raise the bar on our Release and Delivery process around products and services we're building.

You MUST have Engineering background.

You will lead our Delivery Team in order to release and deliver new versions of our products and services. Delivery Team is one of the Teams that consists of specialized QA, SRE and Release Engineers who are working both on implementing and maintaining CI/CD and automated release process along with related close efforts and tooling but also making our products and services more robust and stable.

On your journey, you will work closely together with Product and Technology Teams. As a leader you will also take part in Technology Leadership Team where we will drive Technology team strategy and practices.

We are working in an Agile way and have embodied DevOps culture and practices deep into our roots. We were born in cloud and still live there.

We are relying on Continuous Integration/Delivery to enable us toward fast and frequent release cycles and deliveries. Delivery Team governs Continuous Integration/Delivery as well as all release related automation so you will be in the place to work with a team of talented Engineers to get our CI/CD to the next level.

Our autonomous Feature Teams work toward planned releases governed by Product Management. There is a volatility and expected changes along this journey in order to deliver the best value so that we can make the best impact and ROI. We need you to play the role of the key facilitator by managing the scope, quality and timeline in a triangle of our Feature Teams, Product Management and Customer Success Team.

Security is very important for us so you will make sure that our PSIRT capability is embedded in all our processes and tooling. 


Responsibilities 

  • Work within our Engineering team.
  • Lead the Delivery Team. Be part of Technology Leadership Team.
  • Design and implement Release Management Process.
  • Make Product Managers be your next best friends.
  • Ensure high quality of products and services Be able to deliver critical fixes within hours
  • Analyse usage/customer feedback and take it back to the development team
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, timeline and quality.
  • Work closely with Feature Teams and manage their scope and risks.
  • Work closely with PSIRT and manage security risks.
  • Work closely with Product Management and make sure we hit our targets.
  • Work closely with Customer Success Team and make sure releases make our customers happy.
  • Make sure that our Release Process is automated as much as possible and that there are NO manual actions.
  • Work closely with QA and other Teams beyond the Delivery Team to extend QA coverage further and reach the limits of possible.
  • Explore new delivery options and make sure we're on the right side of the tracks

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ professional experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience building robust applications and/or products.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrable experience working in DevOps way of working on delivery of products and services.
  • Demonstrable experience with DevOps and automation tools like Jenkins, Ansible and others.
  • Advanced and efficient communication skills.
  • Pragmatism and clarity over by-the-book interpretations of processes
  • FBI level hostage negotiation skills you can apply with your peers and relevant parties
  • Software Engineering background is a plus
  • Familiarity with the following technologies: Linux, Git, SQL, REST, JSON, XML, HTTP is a plus
  • Previous Project management experience is a plus
