CYBERUK is the UK government’s flagship cyber security event. Hosted by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), it features world-class speakers, solutions and opportunities for interaction between the public and private sectors. You will be briefed on the evolving cyber threat and how we must respond as individuals and as a community to keep Britain safe in cyberspace.

Andrew Foster, Senior Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst at EclecticIQ, will give a workshop on:

Importance of a Shared Data Model for Intelligence Collaboration

Threat Intelligence is of key importance to organizations building an effective cyber security practice. To be better prepared for ‘the next cyber-attack’, an organization’s Threat Intelligence practice brings contextual insights to the operation in order to ‘know the enemy’, and to understand the most relevant threats. Threat intelligence facilitates an organization in their development of a pro-active approach towards cyber threats.

By collaborating and sharing Threat Intelligence, organizations gain strength in the fight against cyber threats. A diverse community of organizations participating in bidirectional intelligence exchange will always be better equipped than the organization that stands alone. How intelligence is shared is often overlooked, and could be robbing communities of the value they create.

In this presentation, we explore some of the pain points associated with establishing an intelligence sharing community. We will specifically address the problem of a shared data model, and how to overcome some of the problems associated with it.
